I don't see anything about your mobo having an amplifier, so that would be my main concern since I wouldn't be concerned with the ALC1150 not sounding good. Or maybe the HD is that Fatality version. Many of the X-Fi cards aren't considered to be as good sounding as newer stuff, but you'd have to do a search on that since I don't remember specifics other than the Titanium HD is highly regarded and maybe one of the Fatality versions. Your mobo has ALC1150 which is considered to be a good DAC, on par with or better than a card like the Xonar DG/DGX. But the Xonar DG's DAC is obviously better. The 892 is "pretty good." I wouldn't hate listening to it.
MSI Z97 GAMING 7 WHICH AUDIO JACK SHOULD I USE SOFTWARE
Overall I really like the box, probably the thing I like the most, but the software also really enhanced the sound, but some people on here might think software is blasphemy to the "pure sound " I also just remembered it also has a remote, and since I want this as a "Media Center" the remote might "finally" become useful LOL. So I'm curious how it would compare to on-board audio since people claim it's so much better these days and "sound cards aren't needed?" It's funny because the Computer forums say onboard is as good, but here they claim otherwise in certain contexts, which I'm not 100% sure where one is better than the other based on price point and such. I've heard the card is still a very good card, and is up there with the top end cards of today.

There is also a lot of extra features for line in and such that I personally probably wont be using, but someone else might like it. I really loved the card, and I loved the I/O box as it was a cool feature and easy access to change settings, and fast mute if need be! I currently have a "Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro" I'm looking at this motherboard which has multiple inputs for my need (have Logitech 5.1 speakers with green, orange, and black cables), so I'm curious to see how the onboard would be? As the title says I'm curious about the onboard audio from MSI.
